How it works
At your first visit we write out a plan with everything that needs doing and what each piece of work costs. You take it home and ring us once you have decided. Nothing starts before that.

That is how many minutes an appointment here lasts. We see fewer people in a day, but there is time to explain what we found and to answer questions.

What happens, step by step, so that nothing catches you out

You come at the time we gave you
We do not overlap appointments, so you will not sit in a waiting room. If we are running behind, we ring you before you leave the house.

We look at everything, not just the tooth that hurts
Every tooth, the gums and the jaw joint. We only take an X-ray if it would change our view of what needs doing.

We show you what we found
On the screen, with the X-ray in front of you. Ask as often as you like; that is what the forty-five minutes are for.

We hand you the plan on paper
It says what needs doing, in what order, what each stage costs, and what happens if you leave it another year.

We start when you say so
That might be next week or in six months. The plan stands, and so do the prices in it.

If something turns up along the way that we could not see at the start, we ring you and talk it through first. You will not meet it as a number at the end.

The practice
Three people, the same since 2014
We have been on Bd. Dacia since 2014. We started with two chairs and, which is rare in this business, it is still the three of us.
We decided early on to give every patient forty-five minutes. That is a good deal more than is usual, and it means we see fewer people in a day, but there is no other way to properly explain what we have found and why something needs doing. Especially to someone who has not been near a dentist in five years because they were frightened.
The written plan came later, around 2017, when we realised people were leaving without having understood half of what we had told them. Now you get it on paper. If you want to think it over, or ask someone else, it is far easier with that in your hand.

Dr. Elena Radu
Opened the practice in 2014. General dentistry and prosthetic work.
Dr. Paul Ionescu
Endodontics, which means root canals. The more complicated cases end up with him.
Ana Dobre
She answers the phone, and she is also the one who explains the plan a second time if the first was too much at once.
Patients
I kept putting it off for about seven years, out of fear. They gave me the plan on paper and I read it at home three times before I made up my mind. Otherwise I do not think I would have gone even now.
I paid exactly what was written on the paper. That has never happened to me at a dentist before.
I came for a second opinion and they told me I did not need the work the other dentist had recommended. They could easily have said nothing.
Questions
What people ask us most
- How long does the first visit take?
- Around forty-five minutes. We do the examination, an X-ray if one is needed, and there is still time to talk the plan through. We do no work that day unless you are in pain and it has to be dealt with there and then.
- I am frightened of the dentist. What do you do differently?
- We tell you in advance what you are about to feel, and we stop every time you raise your hand. If it makes it easier, the first visit can be nothing but a conversation, with no work at all. We have patients who started exactly like that.
- Do you work with the state insurance?
- No, we have no contract with the state insurer. The prices here are the final ones, but they cannot be claimed back anywhere.
- Can I pay in instalments?
- Yes, on work over 2,000 lei. Three instalments, no interest, paid directly to us. We will not send you to a finance company.
- Can I come just for a second opinion?
- Of course, it is an ordinary appointment. It happens often. And if we think the other dentist was right, we will tell you that too.
- What if I need something you do not do here?
- We do not place implants and we do not do braces. We send you to two colleagues we have worked with for years, and no, we take no commission.
